June 12, 2015

New Vitae Wellness and Recovery is excited to announce that Dr. Muhamad Aly Rifai has accepted a newly created position as the company’s Medical Director. In addition to continuing to see clients at the behavioral health center and providing supervision for the clinic’s medical staff, Dr. Rifai will offer services for individuals in recovery through 24/7 on-call coverage to manage emergent situations. He also will supervise medical care through a physician assistant or a nurse practitioner who will provide care for individuals at New Vitae Wellness and Recovery.

New Vitae President and CEO, Judith Yanacek, is happy to partner with Dr. Rifai to continue a tradition of compassionate care for individuals seeking behavioral health services. “Dr. Rifai has a strong grasp of cutting edge best practices,” said Yanacek. “His willingness to provide wellness services as part of his new role exemplifies New Vitae’s commitment to holistic care for all service participants – those who attend our behavioral health clinic, and those who utilize our residential options.”

Dr. Rifai brings many years of varied experience to his new role, including more than 15 years of private practice in psychiatry. He also has worked for the National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, Maryland, and as the Medical Director of Behavioral Health Emergency Services through the Lehigh Valley Health Network. He is a pioneer in the field of telepsychiatry, and a presenter for the American College of Physician Executives. New Vitae is pleased to welcome Dr. Rifai to our team.

"I just wanted to thank you for everything you did for me. It was a great experience that has helped me grow and learn. I am living "on my own" now."
