William Leiner, Jr. to Present at 2016 American Psychiatric Nurses Association Pennsylvania Chapter Annual Conference

February 1, 2016

New Vitae Wellness and Recovery is happy to announce that Bill Leiner, Jr., MS, RN, BC, one of the organization's Directors of Wellness, has been selected as a speaker for the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) Pennsylvania Chapter conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Scheduled for April 23, 2016, the conference will focus on providing training and thought leadership for psychiatric nurses.  This year's theme, The Psychiatric Nurse's Role in the Identification and Treatment of Vulnerable Populations, will share information to highlight the challenges associated with participating in recovery services based on one's association with a number of demographic groups.

Leiner's presentation, entitled, "The New Pentateuch," will examine the importance of incorporating five heavily favored concepts into behavioral healthcare, including: brain wellness, the Recovery Model, the Sanctuary Model, Motivational Interviewing, and the Stages of Change.  The discussion will facilitate a better understanding of these concepts, emphasize the interplay between these broad ideas, and review ways to apply these ideas with those who participate in services and in the larger community.

"I am excited to be able to bring these concepts to the APNA," Leiner notes.  "Using these ideas as a foundation for providing services has heightened the emphasis on holistic health at New Vitae Wellness and Recovery.  I look forward to being able to provide examples to facilitate the application of these concepts to other health and human services organizations."
