Please RSVP: Engagement Strategies for those with Co-Occurring Disorders Training
February 10, 2016It can be argued that the best strategy to fight addiction is to engage the individual while the disorder is in its mild or moderate forms. This holds especially true for individual who experience moderate to severe behavioral health challenges. Co-occurring Disorders - having both a behavioral health diagnosis and a history of using substances - is quite common. There are, however, unique challenges in engaging these individuals in treatment. This training will examine these challenges, identify possible strategies, and consider ways to avoid the pitfalls of engaging both diagnoses simultaneously. Presenters J. Todd Barlow, MS, and Pam DeHart, LPC CAC, will lead the discussion in a complimentary training co-sponsored by New Vitae Wellness and Recovery and Marywood University.

"New Vitae Young Adult Services has helped me so much. The mentor staff is great. They are reliable, and always willing to teach me how to do things, rather than just doing them for me. Since coming to the program, I've grown into a better person."
