New Vitae Wellness and Recovery Enjoys an Evening at the Ballpark

July 15, 2019

Several New Vitae Wellness and Recovery residents were excited to attend an Iron Pigs game recently.  Thanks to the generosity of NAMI Lehigh Valley, residents and staff were able to see a game and enjoy time to socialize.  Not only did the Iron Pigs knock the Scranton Rail Raiders out of the park with a final score of 12-3, but our group had a fun and relaxing time at the ball park too!

Adding to the excitement of the experience, one resident had the opportunity to throw out the first pitch to start the game!  It was an incredible moment – both for him and for his peers cheering him on in the stands.  Throughout the evening, everyone in attendance shared the chance to talk about the game, past experiences watching and playing baseball, and the thrill of being in the park vs. watching a game on television.  After the game, all reported on how much fun they had.

All are looking forward to attending another game in the future! Thank you, Lehigh Valley NAMI!  Go Pigs!

“As parents, we are thankful and appreciative that our son is in Mt. Trexler Manor; it is safe, meets his needs, and is responsive and sensitive to any needs he might have.  We are always involved in any decisions, and the staff responds to any requests in a timely manner.”
